We know that, especially for kids, a positive experience at the dentist’s office can lead to a strong foundation for good oral hygiene. Dr. Simpson has two young boys himself, so he understands how important it is for you as a parent that your child feels safe and happy in our care and what it takes to make kids feel comfortable enough to learn and have fun while at the dentist. The American Academy for Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child visit the dentist when his or her first tooth erupts or by his or her first birthday. These early dental appointments help ensure that teeth are erupting properly and that a solid foundation for oral health is established. They also give parents a chance to ask any questions they might have regarding their child’s teeth.
We’re always happy to help you understand what good dental hygiene means for your child. Our philosophy here is that all teeth are important to take great care of, even primary teeth. That’s why we like to start young by taking care of your child’s periodontal and dental needs. You can never start too early!

We promise to treat your children with care, talk to them in terms they can understand, and always move at a pace that keeps them relaxed and comfortable. Dr. Simpson knows that children can be curious, and it’s one of the best ways to learn! We’ll show them all the cool stuff that comes with being a dentist, from their X-rays to explaining what different tools are used for.
We encourage you to practice these things at home, too. While we’re more than happy to accommodate your family at our office, we find that talking about dental care at home really helps kids feel confident about their dental visit!
Making your child feel comfortable at his or her dental appointment is a high priority for us. We know that it often takes more than a friendly smile from the doctor to help a child relax, so we’ve stocked our office with a number of kid-friendly amenities to help children of all ages relax in our care.
