The person behind the lens of Aerial Visuals is myself, Mike Henniger. I am an Electrical Engineer specializing in Software Engineering, my much enjoyed profession. "Aerial Visuals" is a project I started when I wanted to combine my interest in vintage aviation with my profession in software engineering as part of an effort to move my career into web services and applications. What sparked my interest in aviation? Friends took me to my first air show in 1993. It was an interesting experience with many loud and fast jets. However my interest in aviation grew immensely when I went to my second air show, and that show featured warbirds. There was a Lancaster, a B-17, a B-24 and a B-29 at the show, as well as fighters, trainers and transports. I started reading what ever I could about WWII with an emphasis on the air forces. I also started going to as many air shows as I could. Now I am married and my partner in life, Catherine, understands and tolerates my obsession very well. I still try to get to as many air shows as I can to photograph the aircraft, and Catherine is often right there with me. In addition I have expanded my photographic skills to include air-to-air photography. I have also written a few articles and have had photos published.
