Story

Supernatural power battle action

Atsushi Nakajima comes across eccentric people on the verge of starvation after being kicked out of the orphanage --

Osamu Dazai has a suicidal hobby and works hard at trying to drown himself in the middle of the day. Doppo Kunikida wears glasses, and nervously handles his notebook. They worked at "Armed Detective Agency" that is rumored to solve disputes that the army and police couldn't step into. Luck has it that Atsushi is asked to accompany them in their trip to defeat the "man-eating tiger" that is causing a commotion around town...

A fictional city of Yokohama. The characters harbor names of prolific authors. Sparks fly from supernatural powers based on their names.

Atsushi Nakajima

Came out to Yokohama after being kicked out of an orphanage that faced difficulties after an assault by the man-eating tiger. Met Dazai on the verge of having to steal from starvation, and ends up helping work at the detective agency. Has no self-confidence as he lived a life as a "good for nothing" with no parents or friends.
Osamu Dazai
VA: Mamoru Miyano
Ability name: No Longer Human
Member of "Armed Detective Agency", a group with supernatural talent. Suicide aficionado that seeks a place to die, but dislikes pain. Wishes for a murder-suicide with a beautiful woman if possible. Carefree and elusive, his previous job that nobody can figure out is said to be one of the "seven wonders of the detective agency".
Doppo Kunikida
VA: Yoshimasa Hosoya
Ability Name: Doppo Poetry Guest
Member of "Armed Detective Agency", a group with supernatural talent. Carries a notebook with "Ideals" written on the cover, and uses the contents of the notebook as a guide for life. Prim and proper square-headed man who hates changes in schedules more than anything else, but since his partner is the free-roaming Dazai, his troubles are never-ending.
Rampo Edogawa

Ability Name: Super Sleuthing
Master sleuth and member of "Armed Detective Agency", a group with supernatural talent. Has a keen observation talent that is acknowledged by his colleagues as superior, and his master sleuthing guides many difficult cases asked by the police to resolution. Confident, and often speaks and acts in a shameless, childish manner. Motto is "All's well if I'm well."

A flirtatious-looking young man wearing an oversized shirt and pinning his bangs down.
Kenji Miyazawa

Ability Name: Be Not Defeated by the Rain
A member of "Armed Detective Agency", a group with supernatural talent. Until scouted by the agency president, he lived in a rural area that didn't even have electricity. Doesn't know how to doubt, and believes anyone can be understood with enough conversation. Called "Ken-chan" from "all sorts of people" in town, and has a wide social network.
Akiko Yosano

Ability Name: Thou Shalt Not Die
A member of "Armed Detective Agency", a group with supernatural talent. A lady with modern bob hairstyle. A skilled doctor indispensable for a detective agency that often gets into fights, but all members fear falling under her care. Any statements that take women lightly akin to that of the previous generation in her presence are not recommended.

A beautiful girl in a sailor suit type uniform with long flowing black hair.
Yukichi Fukuzawa
VA: Rikiya Koyama
The president of "Armed Detective Agency" full of outlaws. Doesn't show himself in the open much, but proudly takes charge in times of need. A dignified man of character, even the frivolous Rampo gets up and moving if it is an order from Yukichi.
Ryunosuke Akutagawa

Ability Name: Rashomon
A constituent of the ominous Port Mafia that uses the port area as their territory. Wears a black coat and walks around town with a frigid look on his face, it is as if he was the grim reaper. Beyond the reach of army police, and also feared within the detective agency with the saying, "don't meet him. if you bump into him, run."
Chuya Nakahara
VA: Kisho Taniyama
Ability Name: To the Sadness of Becoming Tainted
An officer of the Port Mafia, and hates Osamu Dazai of the Armed Detective Agency. Small-framed but agile and uses powerful martial arts. Loves wearing a black hat.
Motojiro Kajii
VA: Wataru Hatano
Ability Name: Lemonade
A constituent of the Port Mafia. Bomber wanted for the bombing of the Maruzen Building. Mad scientist who gloats that "death" is the "ultimate science".
Ichiyou Higuchi
VA: Asami Seto
Intelligent, beautiful women that wears slacks. Part of a mobile squad that works directly for the leader of the Port Mafia, and has the authority to mobilize the military squad "Black Lizard". Calls her boss Akutagawa "senpai" and thinks fondly of him.
Kyoka Izumi
VA: Sumire Morohoshi
Ability Name: Demon White Snow
A quiet girl in traditional Japanese clothing. Her true identity is a constituent of the Port Mafia. Has a supernatural power that kills, and was raised as an assassin after the syndicate took her in.
Ougai Mori
VA: Mitsuru Miyamoto
Ability Name: Vita Sexualis
The leader of Port Mafia. Previously a doctor, he is a "dull old middle-aged guy". Hides a brutal side that doesn't hesitate to kill anyone who stands against him. No matter how difficult the situation is, he never loses his calm, and always seeks the "best answer" in a logical manner. Dotes over a beautiful young girl named Ellis, and doesn't ever let her leave his side.

VA: Takahiro Sakurai
Ability Name: The Great Fitzgerald
Leader of the North American ability-wielder group "Guild". Also very rich from leading many corporations. Confident and full of elitism, he has been able to obtain anything he has desired. The mastermind that put the huge bounty on Atsushi. He is after the "Permit to Start Ability Services" that the Armed Detective Agency possesses.
Lucy M.
VA: Kana Hanazawa
Ability Name: Anne of the Abyss of Green Gables
Member of the Guild. Her speech mannerisms are cute much like a dreaming young girl, and innocently traps the target into an alternate dimension. Grew up in an orphanage, and is furiously jealous of Atsushi who has been blessed with allies despite having an upbringing similar to her.
