Partnering for Greater Impact

The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) manages Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science. Fermilab, America's premier particle physics laboratory, is located 40 miles west of Chicago. FRA, a partnership of Universities Research Association (URA) and the University of Chicago, has managed Fermilab since 2007.

FRA builds on URA’s 40-year record of performance as manager and operator of Fermilab and the University of Chicago’s resources, partnerships and experience managing Argonne National Laboratory since its inception in 1946. Together, the FRA team brings resources, collaborations, and best practices to deliver world-class research through the safe and efficient management and operation of Fermilab.
