Privacy policy

Pursuant to Government Code section 11019.9, the Delta Stewardship Council has adopted this privacy policy, in adherence with the Information Practices Act of 1977 (Civil Code section 1798 et seq.).

The Delta Stewardship Council (Council) will obtain personally identifiable information only through lawful means.

The Council will specify the purposes for which personally identifiable data are collected at or prior to the time of collection, and any subsequent use of the data by the Council shall be limited to and consistent with the fulfillment of those purposes previously specified by the Council.

The Council will not disclose, make available, or otherwise use any personally identifiable data for purposes other than those specified, except with the consent of the subject of the data, or as required by law or regulation.

Personal data collected by the Council is relevant to the purpose for which it is needed.

All personal data collected by the Council is protected against loss, unauthorized access, use, modification, or disclosure.

Coequal goals

The Delta Stewardship Council was created in legislation to achieve the state mandated coequal goals for the Delta. "'Coequal goals' means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place." (CA Water Code §85054)
