Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Nevada Home
Retention Program?
The State
of Nevada sponsored Home
Retention Program is designed to
assist
individuals and families at risk of losing
their homes who have not been helped by myriad other housing
assistance programs. The goal of the program
is to stabilize homeownership and neighborhoods by
providing assistance to homeowners that want to stay in their home.
How do I apply for the program?
The program does not accept applications. The program purchases mortgages of underwater, delinquent borrowers directly from investors, servicers and agencies such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). If your note was purchased in a pool from one of these sources, you will be notified. We do not encourage you to stop making payments to your current servicer in order to qualify your note for purchase by the program.
How will the NHRP help me?
This is a principle reduction
program
to assist borrowers who are currently 90 days or more delinquent and whose
current mortgage principal balance is above the current market value of the home. Through a streamlined process, we will assist
you to qualify you for a principal reduction.
For those borrowers that are unable to qualify or that decline
participation in the program, transition assistance is available.
Why am I being invited to
participate?
Your loan was purchased by the State of Nevada Home Retention Program
from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This principal reduction program is only
available to homeowners that had their mortgage acquired by the NHRP. You should anticipate receiving additional
communication about the process from both our housing counseling partner and
the new mortgage servicer.
Who is authorized to
communicate with me about this program?
The State of Nevada Home
Retention Program has contracted with LenderLive Network, Inc. LenderLive Network, Inc. is your
new loan servicer. LenderLive is a nationally recognized, fully licensed
