VOA uses digital, web, and mobile media to engage viewers, listeners, users, and friends. Radio and television broadcast to approximately 3,000 affiliates, and satellite transmissions reach countries where free speech is banned or where civil society is under threat. VOA’s four mobile apps have registered more than 1 million downloads and cater to users on all major mobile platforms. At the New York Festivals International TV and Film awards, VOA won a Finalist certificate in the Education/Instructional category for The Making of the Constitution, produced by Kelly Jean Kelly as part of the VOA Learning English series, The Making of a Nation. The series teaches U.S. history by telling the stories of major events and personalities since the country’s founding.
