Training sponsored by Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth

Ongoing

The Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth (VFHY) has provided quality regional trainings to prevention professionals throughout the state of Virginia since 2005. The trainings help develop professional, organizational and classroom management skills, increase general prevention knowledge and build capacity among statewide prevention and substance abuse professionals. On the VFHY website, click the Training tab.

Marijuana Taskforces

Ongoing

The legalization of marijuana for medical or recreational use is a controversial topic around the country and here in Virginia. For notices about conferences, statewide/regional taskforces and efforts to educate the community about how marijuana affects health and public safety, a few excellent sources are: Community Coalitions of Virginia (CCOVA), Substance Abuse Free Environment, Inc. (SAFE) for the Central Virginia Marijuana Taskforce and Unified Prevention Coalition of Fairfax County for the NOVA Marijuana Prevention Taskforce.
