My wife and I both worked with James and Donna at CCI. Our children also went to school with their children. Our heartfelt prayers go out to his family. May God Bless the Hartman family in their time of need.

“Jay” was my gunner in H.U. 7. He was a wonderful man. Very calming and always good for making anyone feel comfortable. He will be greatly missed. I pray that his family and friends will have the strength to make it through this most difficult of times.

I pray that God bind your broken hearts and wipe away your tears. May he give you comfort, stength and peace that surpasses all understanding during your difficult season.

We were brand new officers together at CMC, I still remember him like it was yesterday…I can’t believe you’re gone James. May you rest in peace.

James was the best cousin in the whole wide world! I remember when I first started with Corrections. We talked forever about the process, and what my experience would be like. He told me that he was proud of me and the woman that I had become. I miss him already. This is the 3rd death that my family has had in the last 4 months Please pray for our family during this difficult and tragic time! Words can not express the pain and the shock that we are experiencing at this time. James was my first cousin, growing up there were 10 girls and 2 boy cousins. We all were more like brothers and sisters not cousins! He was the only son my auntie had, and her heart will never be same! Please please pray for his wife Donna, my cousins Vantrice, Veronica, and James Jr. Our family is in sooooooooooo much pain.

Laquita, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You and I worked together at CSP-Sol and I remember what a passionate and loving person you were to just your friends/co-workers. So I know how you much be feeling right now. May God give you and your family the comfort that you will all need in this difficult time. Please take care, and I will be thinking and praying for you and your family.

Hi, Miss Cheryl thank you for your prayers and your thoughtful words. This really is a very, very difficult time for my family. It was so unexpectedly. If you can recall, I loveeeee going to visit my family in Southern Ca. We are all still in shock. Please continue to keep my family in your prayers. Thank you and God bless.

Hartman was the most wonderful Officer to work with. So dedicated to his work. Always wanting to complete his work ahead of schedule. He made time in his day to always make me laugh when I needed it. He was always calm and patient in difficult situations. He was able to talk any inmate into doing what he wanted without threat or use of physicality….he was a gental giant. I will miss him so very much.
