International Economic Analyst
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) is the statistical and analytical agency within the U.S. Department of Energy. EIA collects, analyzes, and disseminates independent and impartial energy information to promote sound policymaking, efficient markets, and public understanding of energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment. EIA is the nation's premier source of energy information and, by law, its data, analyses, and forecasts are independent of approval by any other officer or employee of the U.S. government.

The detailee will join the macroeconomic analysis team within the Energy Information Administration (EIA) as an international economic analyst. The macro team produces research, analysis, and modeling that feeds into many EIA products, including the International Energy Outlook, Today in Energy, and EIA Working Papers. The detailee will have opportunities to contribute to these publications, as well as to brief any results and analysis to senior managers. Program Analyst (Performance Improvement)
The detailee will play a key role in a Chief Human Capital Officer (CHCO)-level initiative to implement and report on new Human Resources (HR) operations performance metrics. The metrics, relating to core HR functions including hiring, benefits and development, will be used to enhance HR processes and will also be included in CHCO briefings to approximately 45 Dash-1 level customer organizations across the Department.

Specifically, the detailee will work closely with the Program Specialist, HRSD, to collect, review and analyze data related to HR operations performance characteristics under the categories of cost, efficiency, effectiveness and risk. Additionally, the detailee may also participate in designing or enhancing reports and queries and developing automated methods for analyzing raw data and linking it to presentation materials.
