  • August 6, 2014 - DWR is hosting preseason flood coordination meetings this fall throughout California

    The Department of Water Resources is hosting preseason flood coordination meetings in September and October at various locations throughout the state. Flood managers, flood agencies, and emergency responders are invited to join us to share information about flood response and resources for this winter.  Dates and times for these meetings are available in this flyer (PDF: 670 KB).


  • July 17, 2014 - DWR is soliciting comments on draft Urban Flood Risk Reduction Program Guidelines, draft Proposal Solicitation Package, draft Cost Share Guidelines<

    The Department of Water Resources (DWR) is releasing the three documents for public comment. The draft Guidelines and a draft Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP) for the Urban Flood Risk Reduction (UFRR) Program will guide the selection and funding of UFRR Program projects beginning in the Fiscal Year 2014-15 funding cycle. Also available for comment are the proposed draft Cost Share Guidelines that update the 2010 formula and will affect DWR’s flood risk reduction programs, such as the UFRR Program.

  • April 7, 2014 - 2013 FloodSAFE California Annual Report Released

    FloodSAFE has released the 2013 FloodSAFE California Annual Report (PDF: 6.5 MB).  It highlights over 55 key accomplishments of Flood Management Planning, Floodplain Risk Management, Flood Risk Reduction Projects, Flood System Operations and Maintenance, and the Flood Emergency Response Programs.  The Annual Report also provides an overview of FloodSAFE's investments of public funds.
