  • Victor McCree, the NRC's Executive Director for Operations, and John Kotek, the Department of Energy's Acting Asst. Secretary for Nuclear Energy, sign the agencies' Memorandum of Understanding regarding DOE's Gateway for Accelerating Innovation in Nuclear (GAIN) program. The memo describes how the NRC, as an independent safety and security regulator, will provide DOE and GAIN participants with accurate, current information on the NRC's regulations and licensing processes. DOE's program will help prospective advanced nuclear technology applicants understand and navigate the regulatory process for licensing new reactor technology.
