National American Indian Heritage

Fort Benning will celebrate National American Indian Heritage Month at 11 a.m. Nov. 18 in Marshall Auditorium, Building 4, McGinnis-Wickam Hall. Chief Lonzado Langley of the Savannah River Band of Euchee (Uchean) Indians, will be the keynote speaker.

Closure Stone Gate

This Saturday, Nov. 19, the Stone Gate on Benning Blvd. will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., due to a School of Americas Watch demonstration. The ACP on Benning Rd will remain open for traffic coming or going to S. Lumpkin Road, through the NIM and Hotel parking lot.

Increased Fire Danger Conditions

At locations where the Fire Danger Rating is 3 or above, burning is not advised and burn permits will likely not be issued.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE:

Lindsey Creek Parkway, both North and South bound lanes, at Upatoi Creek bridge will be closed starting Saturday morning, Sept. 17, and should be reopened Sunday, Sept. 18. This road closure is needed to switch traffic over to the newly constructed bridge and begin removing the other bridge.

Please use alternate routes and maintain safe driving practices in construction zones.

The Trusted Traveler Program
The Trusted Traveler Program will be suspended on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., which means everyone in the vehicle must show a picture ID card to the Security Guards for access to the installation. The automated self-scanning lanes will not be available during this timeframe.
