The Appointments Office was formally organized in 1967 to assist the Governor in the process of appointing individuals to full-time “at-will” positions and as members of boards and commissions.

The Appointments Office accepts applications from and interviews individuals that are interested in full-time “at-will” appointed positions in Maryland state agencies or appointments to boards and commissions.

Qualified candidates are referred to the Governor and State agencies for their consideration.
