Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) builds mutually beneficial civil-military partnerships between US communities and the Department of Defense (DoD) to:

  • Provide high quality, mission-essential training for Active, Guard, and Reserve support personnel and units
  • Deliver military readiness and partnership capacity to serve when the nation calls, at home or abroad
  • Contribute to American prosperity by meeting public and civil-society needs
  • Strengthen the bond between American citizens and the US military
  • Kindle a spirit of service and volunteerism among all partners and the communities they serve

Innovative Readiness Training Awarded A "Bright Ideas" Award By Harvard University

Bright Ideas is an initiative that recognizes creative and promising government programs and partnerships. The initiative is offered through the Innovations in Government Program, a program of the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School.

Brigh Ideas Innovative Readiness Training is a US military volunteer training opportunity that provides training and readiness for military personnel while addressing public and civil-society needs. Community needs such as infrastructure, health care, diving, transportation, and cybersecurity align with military mission essential training requirements. Military professionals train in these specialties along with a host of other partnership, leadership, planning, logistics, and support skills.
