The Embassy’s Public Affairs Section, in collaboration with the NGO FETAPH, hosted 50 young people, all with some form of physical challenge, for a week-long intensive science and technology course, known as CISTEM.  This course was designed to help high school and university students with disabilities increase their chances of success in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and reach critical junctures on paths toward college studies and careers in these fields. 

CISTEM also imparts proven practices that enable teachers and special educators to provide opportunities accessible to individuals with disabilities. Practical sessions undertaken this week will help students and teachers familiarize themselves with current technological tools that can help them access more information and participate and succeed in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
