Killeen honors post, 1st Cav with mural

Killeen city officials and business owners gathered on Veteran's Day to unveil a mural during a ribbon cutting ceremony in downtown Killeen.

The mural honors Fort Hood, the 1st Cavalry Division and the unique relationship both communities have enjoyed from years past to now.

Located on the corner of North Gray Street and East Avenue D, the mural was a combined effort of the City of Killeen, the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce and the Killeen Civic Art Guild. Supplies for the mural were donated by local Killeen business owners.

The art guild came up with the concept and provided the majority of the labor in painting the mural.
