The Region 4 Field Office plans and oversees a network of public mental health, developmental disabilities, addictive disease and prevention services for 24 counties.
Counties in this region include Baker, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Calhoun, Colquitt, Cook, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Echols, Grady, Irwin, Lanier, Lee, Lowndes, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, and Worth.

Advisory Council
DBHDD Regional Advisory Councils are created and authorized pursuiant to O.C.G.A. Section 37-1-20.
The Region 4 Advisory Council represents 24 counties in the region. Members are appointed by their county commissioners; they are business and civic leaders with a strong interest in mental health, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases as well as consumers or family members of consumers.
The role of the Advisory Council is to give a voice to consumers and their families and other citizens in the region in assessing needs and recommending priorities for DBHDD services. The council makes recommendations about services and works with the regional field office to develop an annual plan. Council members stay informed about local needs and issues and serve as advocates with public officials. The main objective of the council is to identify community needs and gaps in the current DBHDD service system and to make recommendations based on their findings.
