Introducing 511 Wisconsin, the official mobile traveler information app of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. 511 Wisconsin provides current traffic and winter road conditions, as well as real time closure information, custom traffic alerts, message boards, freeway camera images and travel times for major roadways in the state of Wisconsin.

Not awesome, but does the job
First my complaints. Having to click through all of the disclaimers every time I open is a pain in the b***. They could have a simple "Agree" and put the disclaimers somewhere else. I work in a regulated industry with LOTS of disclaimers and disclosures that NOBODY reads. Having to re-set the legend options every time I open the app is a pain in the b***. That said, it provides the driving information I need when traveling up North to visit relatives or across the state to see friends. Enables me to make a smart decision before setting out and ending up in a ditch or accident because I was stupid. Thanks.
You are kidding, right?
Every time I open it, I have to agree not to use it when driving. Then its default is "traffic speeds", so I always have to go into the menu to tap on winter driving conditions, which load one stretch of road at a time--plan to wait. And wait. Hopefully, you live close to one of their roads with data--unfortunately, I do not. I have noticed it does not seem to give real-time conditions; there are not a lot of updates. I do not use it for anything but winter driving; hopefully someone finds the other options useful!
Awful. Just awful.
Nothing is easy. You can't just set up to just see incidents and have that setting remain. Every time you open the app you have to reconfigure the map.
If you sign up for alerts in one county, you get a message about the incident, which links to the app, which you then have to reconfigure to see the incident!
I signed up for alerts only in Dane County. This morning I got 8 alerts for a highway alert in Eau Claire County. Not a statewide alert--a local incident. The app is less than useless.
