Guam Chamber of Commerce Annual Song Festival - It's A Magical Christmas

The Annual Song Festival format introduced in 2013 has proven very successfully, highlight Guam's growing vocal community – specifically the youth. The diversity of genres and styles through out the carious schools across the island will be features in a one-day event where schools will celebrate the love of song and singing and compete for cash prizes and bragging rights.

 

Armed Forces Committee Annual Salute to the U.S. Armed Forces on Guam Biba Para Hamyu

The annual Salute is an event of the Chamber's Armed Forces Committee. Scheduled each year in October, the event is a tribute to the men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces in Guam. The Chamber recognizes the important role of the U.S. Military's presence in the Western Pacific and considers it an honor and privilege to be able to express our appreciation for what the armed forces does each day in defense of our freedom.

Annual Amateur Golf Tournament Fundraiser

An annual "fun"-raising golf tournament is one of the Chamber's most successful and enjoyable annual events. The day begins with an informal lunch, golf with four hole-in-one prize opportunities, exceptional awards for the top three teams, dinner, and raffle prizes. The event offers an excellent networking opportunity for members. Proceeds from the tournament support community projects of the Guam Chamber of Commerce.

 

Annual Small Business Expo & Outreach

An annual event for small business owners, managers and their representatives on Guam and Micronesia to network with Chamber member companies and organizations such as the U.S. SBA, Pacific Islands Small Business Development Network and others that can offer services, leads and products to meet their business needs. Chamber members are provided the opportunity to showcase their products or services to a captive audience, allowing them to gain exposure, develop new leads, and expand their customer base. The event highlights include a seminar or workshop often associated with the theme chosen for the annual program, an after hours mixer and the announcement of the Annual Small Business Excellence Award recipient. This year's Expo event was held on June 30, 2016.

 

Annual Summer Youth Swimming & Water Safety Program

A drug prevention effort offering positive alternatives to children ages 5 – 15 years is offered each summer. Since 1996, over 1900 children participated in this prevention program. Over a six-week period, participants:

  • Learn how to swim or swim better;
  • Learn about water safety; and
  • Participate in drug abuse presentations led by trained youth leaders from the Youth for Youth Organization. Workshops focus on building self-esteem and self-confidence, increasing awareness and knowledge about drugs, stress management, suicide prevention, and problem-solving/decision making.
