Next week thousands of Virginia high school students will have the opportunity and extra guidance about how to apply to college.

Governor Terry McAuliffe launched a new online portal offering students impacted by the recent closure of ITT Technical Institution key information about steps they can take. The portal, www.governor.virginia.gov/ITT, offers a one-stop resource for students in the wake of the ITT closure. Please read the ITT Technical student advisory letter for additional information.

Governor McAuliffe announced a new program that will provide Virginia students with a clearer path to higher education. The Affordable Pathways grants (up to $140,000 each) will be awarded to as many as four public two- and four-year institutions of higher education.

2016-17 Tuition and Fees ReportReport: Most Virginia college students to see lowest increase in tuition and fees in 15 years
Most in-state undergraduates attending Virginia’s public colleges and universities will see their tuitions and mandatory fees increase this year an average of $369, or 3.6 percent, the lowest such rate in 15 years.  Including only tuition and classroom-related fees, the average increase for those students came to 2.9 percent – in line with the Commonwealth’s goal of minimizing price increases for in-state students.
