HB 1359  Effective July 1, 2016
The hiring age for 20-year veterans of the armed forces as public safety officers in the 1977 Fund has been waived. The maximum age is 40 and 6 months as a police officer or firefighter. After June 30, 2018, age 70 will become the mandatory retirement age.  To view  Enrolled House Bill 1359 on the Indiana General Assembly website. Click HERE to view the language in the Indiana Code, click on Bill Versions then, in the left column, select 4. Enrolled House Bill (H) then scroll to Chapter 4.7.

Veterans, Veteran families, community supporters, and the public are all welcome to attend.
The VA Health Care administration is in the planning stages of providing veterans a VA Health Care Clinic on Indiana National Guard Property at Fort Benjamin Harrison. The VA is seeking input from veterans about the clinic and  representatives from the VA Health Care, Benefits and Cemetery Administrations will be available to answer questions.
