Mother's love! Selma Blair plants a kiss on her six-year-old son's lips as she takes him to meet Santa Claus

She is an A-List movie star.

But Selma Blair was playing her most important role on Monday - as she was every inch the loving mother to her son Arthur.

The 44-year-old actress planted a kiss on her six-year-old's lips as they stepped out to meet Father Christmas at the Grove in Los Angeles.

She looked winter ready, in a cowl neck cream and black patterned sweater. 

The Anger Management star added a grey cord skirt and black opaque tights. 

The 5ft 3in tall beauty stayed practical with flat leather ankle boots, and carried her belongings in an oversized black tote, with Arthur on the other hip.

Selma wore her brunette tresses in a glossy ponytail, and covered her eyes with dark glasses. 

The American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson star took the opportunity for a caffeine hit, as she supped on an iced-coffee carried in her free hand. 

Arthur had on trendy Hunter wellies and a pair of blue denim jeans, and was seen on her Instagram hugging Santa.

She shares Arthur with ex partner and fashion designer Jason Bleick.

She was also previously married to musician Frank Zappa's son Ahmet from 2004 to 2006.

The brunette beauty seems to be doing well after suffering a meltdown on board a flight from Mexico to Los Angeles with Arthur and Arthur's dad Jason in June. 

In a statement published by Vanity Fair, Selma confessed that she had 'made a big mistake.' 

Said the actress: 'After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.'
