Established in 1851 by the State Legislature, Missouri School for the Deaf is
the oldest residential deaf school west of the Mississippi River. MSD provides
a comprehensive program of academics, athletics, residential life activities,
and student services for grades K-12. The Resource Center on Deafness at
MSD also provides programs and services to support deaf and hard of
hearing students, their parents, and their school districts throughout
