VA released Veterans by Period of Service (POS) and by Children in or Not in the Household located on the QuickFacts page in the General Interests category. This chart shows Veterans by Period of Service and by children in or Not in the household as of 9/30/2014. The POS is for the latest period of service if there are multiple period of services and the total count reflects all living Veterans as of 10/1/2013 or used VA benefits in FY14.

VA released Profile of Rural Veterans: 2014. located on the Reports page under the Population category. This profile uses data from the 2014 American Community Survey data to compare the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Veterans who live in rural and urban areas. The profile also compares Rural Veterans with Rural non-Veterans.

VA released Vietnam Veterans by State: 2014 located on the Reports page in the Period of Service category. This spreadsheet contains data from the 2014 American Community Survey and shows demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Veterans who belong to the Vietnam Veteran cohort. The spreadsheet includes variables like: raw numbers, gender, education,median personal income, age groups, and other varialbles.

VA released Geographic Distribution of VA Expenditures Report (GDX) located on the Expenditures page in the Expenditure Tables category. This report details VA expenditures at the state, county, and Congressional District level. It includes categories such as Compensation and Pension, Construction, Insurance, and Medical Care. Veterans population estimates and the number of unique patients who used VA health care services are also available.

VA released Profile of Women Veterans: 2014 located on the Reports page under the Population category. This profile shows the demographics and socioeconomic characteristics of women Veterans. It compares women to men Veterans and women Veterans to women non-Veterans. This report uses data from the 2014 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample.

VA released Profile of Post-9/11 Veterans 2014 located on the Reports page under the Period of Service category. This profile uses data from the 2014 American Community Survey and USVETS (2014) data to compare the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Post-9/11 Veterans with non-Post-9/11 Veterans and with non-Veterans. It also illustrates utilization differences between Post-9/11 Veterans and other Veterans.

VA released Profile of Minority Veterans: 2014 located on the Reports page under the Population category.  This report uses data from the 2014 American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample to report data concerning the demographics, socioeconomic status, and health charactristics of Minority Veterans.  It also compares major characteristics between Minority Veterans and Minority non-Veterans.

VA released 2014 Profile of Unique Veteran Users located on the Reports page under the Utilization of VA Benefits & Services category.  The report provides demographic, socio-economic, and utilization trends of Veterans who used at least one VA benefit or service each year between FY 2005 and FY 2014.  It also includes a comparison of Veterans who used VA benefits to Veterans who did not use VA benefits.  This report updates and replaces all information contained in prior report.

VA released Compensation and Pension by County: 2015 located on the Reports page under the Utilization of VA Benefits & Services category.  This report provides county-level estimates of the number of Veterans who received VA Disability Compensation or Pension benefits during FY 2015.  It includes the Veterans’ total disability rating group, and gender.  Between 2014 and 2015, the number of Veterans receiving disability benefits has increased from 3.9 million to 4.5 million.
