To all our Veterans, guests and employees – Charles George VA Medical Center Police Officers and I welcome you to the Asheville VA. The Asheville VA Police Department is comprised of 100 percent U.S. military Veterans, and we are honored to protect and serve our fellow Veterans and their families. It is our top priority to make our facilities a pleasant and safe environment to work, to receive medical treatment and to visit loved ones.
The men and women of the Asheville VA Police Department work hard in the pursuit of excellence, and we are continuously striving to provide the highest quality professional police services possible. Who are the VA Police?
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs Police is the uniformed law enforcement service of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, responsible for the protection of the VA Medical Centers, VA Hospitals, Outpatient Clinics and Community Based Outpatient Clinics in addition to its subsidiary components of the Veterans Health Administration, National Cemetery Administration, and the Veterans Benefits Administration. The primary role of VA Police is to serve as a protective uniformed police force in order to deter and prevent crime, maintain order, and investigate crimes that may have occurred within the jurisdiction of the Department or its federal assets.
