Do you know someone who deserves more than just a "pat on the back" for helping out in the community? How about a fresh beer and dinner on us!
At Day Block Brewing, we're starting Growler for Good; an award given out four times a year for individuals who give back to their community. We'll review the nominee submissions, and choose a winner to receive the following prize package as a thanks for their dedication and service to their neighborhoods and communities:
- Growler filled with their Day Block Beer of choice
- 2 True Pint glasses
- T-shirt
- $50 gift card
How do you nominate someone?
Fill out the form below to submit your nomination. We'll review each submission and choose a winner. The winners will be notified by us and announced on our social media pages.
Who is eligible to be nominated?
Nominees should have a strong history of community service. Someone who has dedicated time to a local non-profit or neighborhood program. Nominees can also have a career in a community service oriented job and should demonstrate selfless acts within that organization. Please do not nominate individuals who donate money to charities.
Winners
TONY BECKSTROM
Tony has been a full-time Site Supervisor with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity for more than twenty tears. He has directed the construction of nearly 60 new and re-habbed homes for low-income families, and has worked with literally thousands of volunteers to further the cause of affordable housing in North Minneapolis. His career is a testament to Habitat for Humanity's mission, that decent homes for all people is a matter of conscience.
MICHAEL PURSELL
Congrats to our most recent Growler For Good Winner Michael Pursell. He leads the community engagement processes at Growing Lots Urban Farm, advocates for eating local by volunteering with the Eat Local Tour, is on the Board for the Seward Neighborhood Group and is a Steering Committee Member of the Hub of Heaven Community Garden.
LAUREN SCHRANK
Lauren dedicates all of her free time volunteering for Twin Cities non-profit and church organizations. She works many hours each week at PRISM, a social service agency that helps families facing financial hardship. On weekends, she volunteers with her boyfriend, Nick, as Sunday School teachers for kindergarteners at St. Joseph's Parish in New Hope, MN. Aside from this, Lauren also continuously seeks additional opportunities to help out and volunteer around our community
RICHARD HABSTRITT
Richard has been an active volunteer with Angel Foundation, a Twin Cities based non-profit providing emergency financial assistance and education and support to adults with cancer and their families, for 2.5 years. From stuffing envelopes, to making deliveries to clinics, to coordinating food service for our family events and attending to guests at events, Richard puts in so many hours of his time. He is also extremely active in his church and other non-profits throughout the Twin Cities.
