Gagosian Opens a New Gallery in Geneva
GENEVA.- The inaugural exhibition “Giacometti in Switzerland” is curated by Véronique Wiesinger, director of the Fondation Alberto et Annette Giacometti in Paris who is also responsible for the catalogue raisonné of Alberto Giacometti. Works in the exhibition include rarely seen sculptures, paintings, and additional documentary material from the estate archives.

Gagosian Gallery Geneva is located in the center of Geneva's business district between Lake Geneva and the historic old town, steps away from the famous Rue du Rhône. The gallery is located in a noted Art Deco building that was completed in 1931 and occupies 140 square meters. It will be a venue for significant historical and contemporary exhibitions of artists represented by Gagosian Gallery.

Opened in 1979 in Los Angeles by Larry Gagosian, Gagosian Gallery is one of the world's foremost modern and contemporary art galleries. With the addition of the Geneva gallery, there are now ten galleries worldwide in New York, Beverly Hills, London, Rome, Athens, and most recently, Paris. World-renowned architects of these galleries include Richard Gluckman (New York), Richard Meier (Beverly Hills), and Caruso St John (London, Rome, Paris (in collaboration with Jean-François Bodin)).

Gagosian Gallery has organized important exhibitions by leading modern and contemporary artists including Francis Bacon, Joseph Beuys, Jean Michel Basquiat, Constantin Brancusi, Cecily Brown, Walter De Maria, Douglas Gordon, Arshile Gorky, Andreas Gursky, Richard Hamilton, Howard Hodgkin, Yves Klein, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, Roy Lichtenstein, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Richard Prince, Ed Ruscha, Jenny Saville, Richard Serra, David Smith, Andy Warhol, Franz West, Rachel Whiteread, and Christopher Wool.
