Following the success of The Clink Restaurant here at HMP High Down, The Clink Charity has been in discussion with HMP Cardiff and HMP Prescoed to create a second restaurant before the end of the year.

A planning application has been submitted to build a second Clink Restaurant in conjunction with HMP Cardiff and if permission is granted, the restaurant will be built within the grounds of the prison but outside the main walls and will be completed by September.

This is an exciting project and a step in the right direction for the charity and it’s goal of reducing re-offending rates of ex-offenders by training them and finding them full-time employment within the hospitality industry upon their release.

All income generated from the restaurant will go towards the running and operating costs of the restaurant which will be supplemented by donations and funding from philanthropic supporters. We hope to have more news on the development of the restaurant soon.
