Arts & Humanities[edit]

  1. Anders Feder (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I'm trying to improve sourcing in Islam- and Middle East-related articles, and frequently come across Taylor & Francis sources (particularly Routledge ones) that would be of great help, but which I haven't previously been able to access. I've previously done basic copy-editing and source checking on Twelver, Ismah, Shia Islam and others.--Anders Feder (talk) 21:38, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
@Anders Feder: Here are the journals included in the Arts & Humanities collection; can you confirm that these will be useful to you? Nikkimaria (talk) 12:33, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
@Nikkimaria: Only 2 or 3 of those looks really useful to me, so please feel to prioritize someone else's application.--Anders Feder (talk) 16:29, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Pending if accounts remain or partnership is expanded. Nikkimaria (talk) 16:00, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
@Anders Feder: There are now 30 additional accounts available - are you still interested? Nikkimaria (talk) 21:19, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
  2. Sitush (talk · contribs) Would be used primarily for further work relating to history, society and politics of India/Pakistan, which has long been my main area of interest on en-WP. I also dabble in aspects of British history. I've invariably had to turn to WP:RX or off-wiki requests for info from this source and can only stretch goodwill so far, so tend to limit my requests. - Sitush (talk) 22:29, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
@Sitush: Here are the journals included in the Arts & Humanities collection; can you confirm that these will be useful to you? Nikkimaria (talk) 12:33, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Social History is one I have requested a few times. FICH and the Sikh studies one also stand out. It's not as useful to me as JSTOR, to which I am already signed up, but there are journals in that list which appear quite frequently as refs in other sources etc. - Sitush (talk) 12:43, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Actually, since I've just realised that there are only 30 accounts available, I'll withdraw this. I'm sure that other people have greater need/I can try to make do with WP:RX for a while yet. - Sitush (talk) 04:36, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

  3. Curly Turkey (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Editor since 2005, with over 40,000 edits and nearly two dozen Featured Articles, working mostly in the humanities. I've long wanted to get access to the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics. Curly Turkey ¡gobble! 22:57, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
@Curly Turkey: Here are the journals included in the Arts & Humanities collection (which doesn't include Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics); can you confirm that these will be useful to you? Nikkimaria (talk) 12:33, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Hmm ... neither are Japan Forum or Japanese Studies ... it looks like little that I would likely make immediate use of would be included in the package. Curly Turkey ¡gobble! 21:16, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Access to the Politics, International Relations & Area Studies collection collection would be invaluable to me in order to improve and create articles, otherwise Arts & Humanities would also be very helpful.--Scotchorama (talk) 07:59, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

  10. loupgarous (talk) 20:36, 24 October 2015 (UTC)vfrickey (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I've edited and researched pages for about 12 years now (first edit on 11 December 2003) with over 500 edits. In attempting to find good secondary sources on the career and other notability of Irish cartoonist Kenneth Mahood, I found a reference in Taylor and Francis not available in other databases. I'd like access to Taylor and Francis because they have good coverage of contemporary literature, an interest of mine. I have in the past also found sources in Taylor and Francis that would have helped my editing and research efforts in military history (with emphasis on developments in the 20th-21st centuries). Access to these sources would help me make wikipedia a more dependable source of information. loupgarous (talk) 20:32, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Strategic, Defence & Security Studies[edit]

  1. scope_creep (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Working on German World War II military cryptography articles at the moment, including people and military, diplomatic, civilian organizations. These are some of them. B-Dienst, Cipher Department of the High Command of the Wehrmacht, Wilhelm Tranow, Pers Z S Research Office of the Reich Air Ministry. Information for these articles are hard to find by definition, as they were secret by nature, so a lot of stuff you do find on the web is duplicated. Taylor and Francis has the Cryptologia magazine, which contain bagfuls of good salient info. Assuming this collection covers that period, and it's aligned with what I need. I can use the account for six months and hand it back, if needed. Scope creep (talk) 13:39, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
This is an example of an article I would like to source [[1]]. I can't locate the Strategic, Defence & Security Studies subject. The above article is within the Intelligence and National Security magazine, which may be a member of Defence...? Scope creep (talk) 14:02, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Previous work on the Russian military (such as previously getting Russian Ground Forces to Featured Article status), also Military of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FA), Liberia, Sierra Leone, etc benefited greatly from T&F journals, when I had previous access through work. 5. Nick-D (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I've developed 31 military-related articles to FA status, and am active in articles on modern miltaries and military history topics. I used many of these resources in articles when I had access to them through my university while completing a postgraduate qualification, and would like to put them to use again. The Military Balance would be particularly useful, as I used it extensively as a core reference for articles on modern military forces. This would be useful for updating "my" FA's on the Australian Defence Force and Timor Leste Defence Force, for instance. Nick-D (talk) 10:38, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

  12. Wasted Time R (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email)) Longtime contributor with 68,000 edits and 135 total FA/GA/DYK credits. I got an account a year and a half ago for Arts & Humanities but I think it may have expired. In any case, lately I have been working on articles about international relations doctrines, security studies, and the academic institutions in this area, as well as biographies of U.S. ambassadors. So having access to the Taylor & Francis journals in the Strategic, Defence & Security Studies area would be very helpful (they often seem to have articles that JSTOR does not). 1. Buckshot06 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Member since 2006. I work heavily on military and international affairs subjects, and would thus greatly benefit from the Politics and International Relations collection. Previous work on the Russian military (such as previously getting Russian Ground Forces to Featured Article status), also DR Congo, Sierra Leone, etc benefited greatly from T&F journals, when I had previous access through work. It would be a great benefit to have such access assured.
@Buckshot06: We unfortunately don't have access to the Politics and IR collection at this point - Arts & Humanities or Biological, Environmental and Earth Sciences are the choices. Nikkimaria (talk) 14:30, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
@Nikkimaria: Thanks Nikkimaria appreciate the clarification. Buckshot06 (talk) 22:28, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

  3. Jbhunley (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I mainly do sourcing and verification and at least a third of journals I do not have access to when looking for new sources are T&F Humanities journals. I have personal access to JSTOR and some other academic databases but not Taylor & Francis. Thank you. JbhTalk 11:38, 18 June 2015 (UTC) Withdraw request. I read over the A&H list and it does not include the History, Politics, International Relations etc material I need. There are some useful journals there but others can make much better use of what is included than I can. I will wait until if/when the program is expanded to more useful collections. 4. Hnaluru (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I have been an active user and contributor of Wikipedia for more than a decade and as I started inching towards more content development, I began to look at sources, Taylor & Francis offers to provide such a platform and I am keen to be a part of this library. My interests include India, Archaeology, History, Science and Politics. Thanks for considering. Hnaluru (talk) 18:17, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
