EA's The World is Not Enough N64 to arrive a whole lot earlier than originally scheduled.

Publishing giant Electronic Arts told IGN64 today that its forthcoming James Bond sequel The World is Not Enough will arrive for Nintendo 64 much earlier than previously scheduled. The title was set to debut November 20 but has been bumped up instead for an October 17 release date, more than one month ahead of schedule. The decision to ship the first-person shooter in just two weeks stems from the fact that developer Eurocom finished up work on the title quicker than anticipated. And, of course, because EA would like to get an early jump on the buying frenzies coming with the launch of Sony's PS2 and Nintendo's combatant The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

The move comes as especially great news for Nintendo 64 owners who are accustomed to seeing the console's software repeatedly delayed before shipping. For once a title will arrive a full month ahead of schedule -- just two weeks from now -- and it's one of the best games to hit the system this year.
