    Governor Rauner Signs Legislation to Extend River Edge Tax Credit

    SPRINGFIELD, IL – Governor Bruce Rauner today signed Senate Bill 1488, legislation to extend the River Edge Redevelopment Zone Program. The program allows for an income tax credit to be awarded for the restoration and preservation of a qualified historic structure located in a River Edge Redevelopment Zone.

    CHICAGO – Governor Bruce Rauner, joined by Secretary of State Jesse White, Sen. Kwame Raoul (D-Chicago), Sen. Karen McConnaughay (R-St. Charles), Rep. La Shawn K. Ford (D-Chicago), and other elected officials at A Safe Haven in Chicago, signed Senate Bill 3368, legislation to ensure that any person being released from the Department of Corrections or Department of Juvenile Justice has a valid state identification card upon release.

    SPRINGFIELD, IL - Governor Rauner joined Illinois Department of Corrections Director John Baldwin to highlight efforts the administration has made to transform the Department of Corrections (DOC) along with other criminal justice reforms. Nearly 13,000 security, non-security and contract DOC staff have participated in a two-day Mental Illness 101 – See the Person not the Illness training session in 2016 with almost 100 percent compliance.

    CHICAGO – Governor Bruce Rauner today discussed expanding opportunities for minority communities and the need for a balanced budget with reforms at the inaugural Project HOOD Awards Lunch in Chicago.
