Submissions

Got something you’d like to share on Hooping.org? Hooping.org welcomes your videos, tutorials, photos and more. As the most recognized and respected hooping website in the world, submitting something won’t just give yourself and your website considerable exposure, you’ll also get that warm and fuzzy feeling that comes from being a part of the hooping community. Before you send it in though, here are a few guidelines:

Photos: If you’re nominating a photo please let us know where it was taken, who the photographer is and if you have permission from the photographer to share it on hooping.org. Note: Please obtain photographer permission prior to sharing it because if you don’t have permission, we can’t publish it. Most photographers like to see their work get attention though, so ask ’em. If your photo is featured we love to link everyone involved too, so be sure to include any web links for whoever is in the photo and the photographer as well. You can send us publicly viewable links to your photo, or drop us an email to send the actual photo itself.

Videos and Tutorials: If you’d like to nominate a video or tutorial please note that Hooping.org does not host video files. We also do not share Facebook videos because they are incredibly slow loading off Facebook and crash our website. Upload the video to a service like YouTube or Vimeo first, then send us the link. We also invite you to share any information about your project that you think would be of interest to viewers, where it was filmed, who all is in it, etc. If there’s a song playing we’d love to know what it is called and who the artist is too. And we routinely link everybody up so please include any links so we can do so.

News Items: Were you written up in the press or did you stumble upon a hooping story in the news? Please send us the link to the story. We love it when you let the world know about hooping – it helps us with our mission! If you’ve only seen the piece in print and are not sure if your article is online, please tell us the name of the publication and date and we can look into tracking it down too.

Original Content: Have you written something that you’d like to share with the hooping community at large? We welcome your written submissions as well. If it’s chosen for publication it will include your byline. Pieces that are strictly for the purpose of self publicity, however, will be declined – so make sure it’s something for the community – and if you’d like to be a part of the hooping.org team we periodically take on new team members, just let us know.

In closing, when it comes to submissions the basic rule of thumb is send it in and the place to do that is through our Contact Page. We’d love to see it, even if it’s not really right for us. Unfortunately everything that is submitted can’t be published – or may wind up being published in a less than timely fashion for a variety of reasons. Maybe we just ran something similar and aren’t needing that this week, etc, but we love hearing from you and seeing what you’re up to. Your content submissions are always valued and sincerely appreciated. Thanks in advance for sending them in.
