Charles Luden began reading and printing poetry as a student at Augustana College. He then moved to San Francisco, where he read at City Lights Poets Theater and attended the first San Francisco Book Fair. Returning to Sioux Falls, he worked as a chemist at the EROS Data Center and continued writing and reading poetry, sometimes backed by a jazz band. He also played drums with No Direction and wrote a poetry column for the Sioux Falls Tempest. Luden’s most recent collection is 2015’s Blue Thirsty.
