Bringing engineering to life across North Carolina through outreach, mentoring and education
NC State University’s K–20 education and resource headquarters for exploring engineering. Through hands-on summer camps, in-school mentoring, dynamic volunteer programs, topical workshops and much more, the Engineering Place builds excitement around engineering for students and teachers.
The Solar House is primarily for K-12 STEM education and outreach. We offer scheduled tours to K-12 school groups upon request.
We also offer open house hours during the fall semester to the general public each Wednesday from 2 to 4:30 p.m.except on holidays or during student breaks and final exam weeks.
The Solar House will be closed from December 10, 2016, to January 9th 2017, for private and public tours. We will reopen in the spring for school groups to schedule tours.
