Internships

Working in a Congressional office can be an incredibly rewarding and exciting experience.  An internship is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on work experience by undertaking a variety of administrative and legislative responsibilities in the office.

I offer internships in my Washington, D.C. and Warrensville Heights offices to students who are interested in learning first-hand how government operates.  Interns are an important part of my staff, as they assist with answering phones, data entry, and general office operations in both offices.

Because internships are available expressly for the purpose of furthering educational objectives, they are unpaid and typically awarded to graduate and undergraduate students.

How to Apply

There is no application deadline.  Interns are accepted throughout the year on both a full and part-time basis.  Priority is given to applicants from Ohio's 11th Congressional District, although all interested persons are encouraged to apply.  Selection is based on the strength of an applicant's application, basic office competency, and interview.

Internships in the Washington, D.C. Office

Interns in the Washington office draft constituent correspondence, attend briefings and Congressional hearings, and prepare memoranda for me and members of my staff.

To intern in my Washington, D.C. office, please submit a cover letter indicating your interest, a resume, and a brief writing sample to:

Clifton Williams, D.C. Intern Coordinator

To intern in my district office in Warrensville Heights, please submit a cover letter indicating your interest, a resume, a brief writing sample, and a completed application form to:
