Fifteen
Fifteen
Fifteen is a punk rock band. Fifteen was born out of the ashes of Bay area Crimpshrine back in 1988. It was singer/songwrite/guitarist Jeff Ott's vision to create music that didn't just rock, but had something important to say as well. Getting audiences to move is one thing, but getting them to THINK is another thing all together. Fifteen had succeeded on both counts. After releasing multiple records on various labels, Fifteen is viewed as the leaders in the political punk music scene. They tackle burning issues such as abuse, drug addiction, homelessness, needle exchange, environmental destruction and the governments use of counter intelligence measures to violate activist's civil rights.
Siren [band]
Siren [band]
Siren was a band from 1994-aproximately 1997. Formed by Brian Zero, Joe Carr, Kevin McCracken & Adam Glidewell for the purpose of creating community, with music that not only moved people, but informed and included the audience. Siren shows were much more than a scene, it was an opportunity for people that felt they did not belong to come together. Brian & Kevin had formerly played in Engage together, and Kevin & Joe were the rhythm section in the band Twine. Adam was a long time friend and shared many of the same ideal's, plus he listened to a lot of ABBA. ..

Two things that were a guarantee at a Siren show: An all audience included version of Money Changes Everything & Free Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches made by Brian after Siren's set. Other interesting facts, if you brought a shirt, Adam or Kevin would screen the Siren logo on it for free, there was always free information about animal rights, and corporate greed, this table was handled by Miriam Wilding along with many other responsibilities including booking, promotion, and general assistance. ..

The primary song writers and only permanent members were Singer Brian Zero & Guitar Player Adam Glidewell. There were various live Bass Players including: Joe Carr, Chuck Goshart, Tim Shehan, and Felix Thursday, though Joe was the only one to record with Siren, Adam handled the Bass on the bands only full length release Becoming Wheels. Two Drummers: Kevin McCracken & Nate Lamar ..

Siren played their first show at Santa Rosa's venerable all ages space, Cafe This in 1994. Over the short time that Siren was together they had the opportunity to play with some amazing bands; Jawbreaker, Tilt, Citizen Fish, Cringer, Fifteen, Ground Round, Rancid, MDC, Jara, klickitat ikatowi, Universal Order of Armageddon, Tribe 8, Kid Dynamo, Nuisance, Econochrist, Shelter, the Dwarves (really), Screw32, Tiger Trap, Sari Flowers and many, many more. During 1994 & 1995 there were also two short tours with Avail. Kevin left the band under less than good circumstances in 1995, The band continued to play and record until 1997.
