071 – WALT FLAKUS – on Stabbing Westward’s rise, fall, and rebirth; his radio career; and filling in for the great Matt Pinfield

C

Today we’re joined by Walt Flakus, keyboardist and songwriter from 90’s industrial rock band Stabbing Westward. They had commercial success in the mid-90’s behind their albums Wither, Blister, Burn & Peel, and Darkest Days—which produced the top-5 single “Save Yourself”. The band eventually called it quits after a label change and several line-up changes…but reunited briefly last year for two 30th anniversary shows. Walt discusses the possibility of further reunion gigs and how a pivot to the world of radio gave him another view of the industry. Make sure to subscribe now so you don’t miss any of our upcoming conversations. Find the full schedule now on our Facebook page.
