Renewable Energy Partnerships

Other agencies lend their expertise to the development of renewable energy on public lands.

The Western Governors’ Association (WSA) has specific policies on energy and transmission development.  View more at http://www.westgov.org/.

The Department of Defense (DOD) manages large tracts of land that have been reserved for military use and purposes.  These lands may have potential for renewable energy development, for which the BLM generally administers the underlying land ownership and other uses, such as renewable energy development.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory develops clean energy and energy efficiency technologies and practices, advances related science and engineering, and provides knowledge and innovations to integrate energy systems at all scales. View more at http://www.nrel.gov/.

Argonne National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary science and engineering research center that brings together researchers and experts from industry, academia and other government labs to address national challenges including in clean energy development. View more at http://www.anl.gov/energy.
