Public Health Preparedness

VT mobile hospital setup

Public health preparedness is the capability of the public health and health care systems, communities and individuals to prevent, protect against, quickly respond to, and recover from health emergencies.

The Vermont Department of Health works with hospitals, partner agencies and communities to ensure public health emergencies are considered when developing response plans. Individuals can also do their part by staying informed, being prepared at home, and getting involved in their community preparedness efforts.
