11/17/16 -- Notice: A new civil case type has been created to provide consistency in the filing of claims against the uninsured and
underinsured coverage of an individual’s own automobile insurance policy. Currently, these types of cases are identified as tort, vehicular tort or
contract cases by different filers. The use of a specific case type permits more efficient identification and tracking of the filing and resolution
of these cases. The new case type will be
C50 – Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage. Any case involving a claim against an insured’s uninsured
or underinsured coverage should be identified as case type C50 on the civil summons
(JD-CV 1) and in the electronic filing system.
10/18/16 -- Effective January 1, 2017, Connecticut attorneys will
be required to attend a minimum of 12 credit hours of continuing legal
education (CLE) as part of their license requirement.
