ADDS - Aviation Digital Data Service

Effective Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 1500 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), 11:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, the legacy Aviation Weather Center webpages listed at, and Java applet-based webpages at will no longer be publicly accessible.

If a user attempts to access these webpages after this date/time, automatic redirects will occur. This change is required since the Java applet will no longer properly function with Java Release 9. As the Java applet has evolved, its Application Programming Interface (API) has also changed, to the point where it can no longer be reliably used since it significantly degrades Web browser performance and must be deprecated.

If users still desire to use Java-based functionality, please visit the Flight Path Tool application: Otherwise, users can access a variety of OpenLayers GIS applications readily available at: For more information, please view the complete Service Change Notice (SCN) at:

The Aviation Digital Data Service (ADDS) makes available to the aviation community text, digital and graphical forecasts, analyses, and observations of aviation-related weather variables. ADDS is a joint effort of NCAR Research Applications Program (RAP), Global Systems Division (GSD) of NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL), and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Aviation Weather Center (AWC).
