Factory-Built Housing Insignia Requirements
All factory-built homes (FBHs) and components systems that are offered for sale within the state to first users (meaning a person, firm or corporation who initially installs a factory-built home or component) shall bear an insignia of approval issued by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HDD), in accordance with the California Health and Safety Code § 19980. The insignia shall be placed on the FBH unit, or component prior to shipment. It is permissible to remove the insignia after installation.
Insignia will only be issued through HCD-approved FBH Quality Assurance Agency and for units that have prior plan approval, in accordance with Code of California Regulations, Title 25, Chapter 3, Subchapter 1, Factory-Built Housing Regulations.
