Jacor Communications Inc., a radio and cable television holding company in Cincinnati, said yesterday that it would acquire Noble Broadcast Group Inc. from Conseco Inc. for about $152 million. The deal will make Jacor the nation's fifth-largest radio company. Jacor said it had received credit commitments of $300 million from a group of banks for the purchase and for future acquisitions. Noble's 12 radio stations serve Denver, St. Louis, San Diego and Toledo, Ohio. Conseco, a financial services holding company based in Carmel, Ind., acquired a 75 percent equity stake in San Diego-based Noble in August in return for providing it with $37 million of subordinated debt financing.
