There are so many interesting storylines in the first season. The plot keeps getting wilder and more bizarre throughout the season. People will be surprised once they see where it's all heading.
Riverdale looks like it'll be a nice place to visit for a few seasons.
Between the bags of dollar bills, bullet-holed foreheads, and two stellar performances by both Betty and Veronica, there are enough pieces for Riverdale to pass the midtown replacement test.
A dark (can I say "dark" enough here?) teen soap more in the vein of Pretty Little Liars than a comic book come to life.
For many, Riverdale might be an acquired taste. But there's plenty to chew on here.
Riverdale is not only coherent but often enthralling, an effectively moody and sometimes perverse melodrama that manages to revel in the high school tropes that Archie helped define decades ago while simultaneously subverting them.
