This outage will cause an outage for various DNR services, listed below, on Sunday, October 11, from 5AM - 9PM ADT:

• All Online payment services

• Recorder’s Office & UCC searches
• Case Abstract/LAS searches

• Firewood Permits

Due to State of Alaska Network Services hardware upgrade, there will be no access to the DNR web site and applications on Sunday, August 16, 2015 between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. ADT.

This outage will affect all computer services delivered out of the Atwood Building.  This includes:

• All public-facing web sites and web-based applications
• All internally used web-based systems such as LAS Case Abstracts or Alaska Mapper
• DNR file/print services and other network services for desktop computers in the Atwood Building
• All GIS services, including ESRI license server, and GIS data services 

This outage will also NOT IMPACT Juneau, Palmer, Fairbanks, and outlying offices, unless people are attempting to access services provided out of the Atwood Building.

Information Resource Management will be performing some software upgrades on the computing equipment managed in the Atwood Building on Saturday (4/18/2015), between 9 am and 1 pm.

This outage will affect all computer services delivered out of the Atwood Building.  This includes:

• All public-facing web sites and web-based applications
• All internally used web-based systems such as LAS Case Abstracts or Alaska Mapper
• DNR file/print services and other network services for desktop computers in the Atwood Building
• All GIS services, including ESRI license server, and GIS data services 

This outage WILL NOT IMPACT services delivered within the Division of Oil & Gas.

This outage will also NOT IMPACT Juneau, Palmer, Fairbanks, and outlying offices, unless people are attempting to access services provided out of the Atwood Building.

DNR IT is working to address an issue with our Anchorage filer which hosts numerous departmental applications and environments. This problem is causing some angst for numerous services at the moment but not all are being impacted. We are vigorously working to correct the problem at this time.

Information Resource Management will be performing some fairly significant hardware upgrades to the computing equipment managed in the Atwood Building on Wednesday (9/10/2014), at 5 pm, and again on Friday (9/12/2014), also at 5 pm.  We believe that each outage will last between 3 and 5 hours.

The outage schedule looks like this:

• Wednesday (9/10): 5 pm to 10 pm
• Friday (9/12): 5 pm to 10 pm

This outage will affect all computer services delivered out of the Atwood Building.  This includes:

• All DNR public-facing web sites and web-based applications EXCEPT from the Division of Oil & Gas.
• All internally used web-based systems such as LAS Case Abstracts or Alaska Mapper

ETS will be performing firewall upgrades this Sunday that will affect certain SOA network services in the Anchorage area.  If you plan on working between the hours of 7:00 am and 1 pm this Sunday in the Anchorage offices, here is what the impact will be for you while you are in the office:

• You will have email available.  You will be able to send and receive email as usual
• You will have access to internal SOA network resources including mainframe interfaces, websites, and other network-based services you may need to use.
• You will not be able to access the Internet, which includes search engines, personal email accounts, and any other service or website that is delivered from outside of the SOA network. 

For those who may need to work from home or who will be in travel status during this outage window, you will be impacted in a number of ways:

• You will have email available.  Email for Anchorage employees will be routed through Juneau, so email services should function as normal for you.
• You will not have access to any state websites that are managed out of data centers in Anchorage; this includes DNR.  You will not be able to access DNR websites that are managed in Anchorage.  This impacts all division websites except for DGGS.
• You will not be able to VPN into the SOA network as you would normally do to access SOA and DNR computing resources.

For any of your customers that may need to use DNR computing resources during this outage window, our Anchorage-based services will be completely unavailable to them between the hours of 7:00 am and 1:00 pm.  Again, any customers, or partners that you work with will be able to successfully communicate with you via email, but our Anchorage-based computing services (primarily websites, data submittal portals, and data feeds) will be unavailable to them.

This outage window is likely to occur on Sundays for the next several weeks, per notices from ETS.  We will keep you posted of future outages as their schedules are firmed up.  The normal ETS maintenance window is 7:00 am to 9:00 am every Sunday morning.  This outage is a 2-hour extension of their normal maintenance window.

On December 12th we will be wrapping up our final Anchorage Atwood data center environment changes. This day is our normal weekly scheduled maintenance timeframe, however we will be starting 1 hour earlier and most likely taking up the entire 4 hours. This work will impact the following services:

• Anchorage File Server Shares (dnr-atwfs0 and dnr-atwfs1)
• Print Services
• Mainframe connections

We will try to limit the impact for all of this. Our hope is to immediately get things restored as we progress through.

There will be intermittent outages of web services and departmental application services on May  4^th between the hours of 7:30AM and 4PM. This work is necessary to prepare the room for major upgrades in hardware that the department has been able to purchase recently.

On May 4^th between the hours of 7:30AM and 4PM there will be brief outages for the following services.

• DHCP Services (This allows you to gain an IP for access to any network. This could be a problem for some working in the building on that day during those hours)
