Construction Advisory Committee (CAC)

Background

The Construction Advisory Committee (CAC) was originally formed in 1986 as a forum for labor, business and L&I to discuss solutions to a notable increase in fatalities from falls in Washington's construction industry. Over the next 20 years, the group tackled many safety and health matters that affected the construction industry. This important participatory group established Washington as a leader in construction worker safety practices and resulted in the sharing of injury and illness data, new consensus rules such as the fall protection standard, and training materials such as the Lead in Construction training manual and the Construction Safety video series. These efforts of the committee promote safer and more productive worksites for Washington's contractors and their employees.

The CAC meetings are open to all interested labor and business representatives who wish to participate in the meeting discussions and small, target workgroups.
