Safety & Health Assessment & Research for Prevention (SHARP) — Research for Safe Work
Getting the word out about occupational safety and health
If you have knowledge about an industry or a best practice, consider publishing in a trade journal. Trade journals serve a targeted audience, making them perfect vehicles for short, industry- or job-specific stories. SHARP has worked with health care, construction, and other industries to increase injury-prevention activities in Washington State and many of SHARP's research findings have been succinctly communicated in trade journals or union association newsletters.
Trade publications can help you communicate directly with people who can make immediate changes – safety and health managers, company owners, and even the workers in the field — so that they have the information they need to make the right decision.
