: As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (DataMgt), Head of Engineering, the incumbent will work closely with data experts in each of the Department of Commerce (DOC) bureaus to identify projects that make data more accessible to the public and improve the use of data in government. As the Head of Engineering, you will lead new data product and software product development at the Commerce Data Service (CDS) and manage the CDS Engineering Team (5-10 engineers). You will introduce modern software development methodologies and practices to the CDS team, advise Commerce Bureaus and stakeholders on their technology strategies, identify new and exciting product development opportunities at our partner agencies, and mentor junior developers.
