Work Experience

Work Experience is generally undertaken by year 9 and 10 students. It is a short term work placement with a host employer, typically for one or two weeks in a continuous block.  A Work Experience placement enables the student to learn about an industry and the workplace, and also broadens their experience and understanding of the world of work and career opportunities.  Primarily, the students are in the workplace to observe and learn, but they may also be given a limited number of tasks which they can complete under supervision. The host employer is required to provide a safe and healthy work environment and to pay the student a minimum of $5.00 per day.
